CHICKPEA SALAD (INDIAN)

 If you are a person who likes a big bowl of protein for breakfast, then this is the place for you. Today I am sharing a healthy Indian chickpea salad recipe. Chickpeas are one of my favorite things to eat. I can even relish on boiled and salted chickpeas. Chickpea salad is the best vegan substitute for a considerable supply of protein and much-suited food for weight loss, as it is rich in iron, folic acid, and protein.

PREPERATION TIME- 20 MINUTES COOKING TIME- 10 MINUTES TOTAL TIME- 30 MINUTES





INGREDIENTS

  • CHICKPEAS- 1 CUP
  • ONION- 1 SMALL
  • TOMATO- 1 SMALL
  • CUCUMBER- 1 SMALL
  • CHAAT MASALA- 1/4 SPOON
  • BLACK PEPPER- 1/2 SPOON
  • SALT- AS REQUIRED
  • LEMON JUICE- 1 TBSP
  • CURD- 1/2 CUP
  • MINT LEAVES
  • CORIANDER LEAVES 


  • METHOD

  • Wash and soak a bowl of chickpeas in water, let it stay for 7-8 hours.
  • After 8 hours, drain the water, and transfer them to a pressure cooker.
  • Add 3 cups of water and a tbsp. of salt to the chickpeas.
  • Light the flame and them them cook.
  • Turn the flame off after 3-4 whistles.
  • Drain away the excess water, and the chickpeas aside.
  • Dice off tomato, cucumber and onion.
  • Add tomato, cucumber, onion and chickpeas to a bowl and keep aside.
  • Make a mint dressing and add it to the salad bowl.
  • Toss it and enjoy.


  • MINT DRESSING 

  • Take 1/2 bowl of each mint leaves and coriander leaves.
  • Add them to the mixer jar along with low fat curd, salt, black pepper, chaat masala, a bit of water and lemon juice.
  • Grind them till a smooth paste is obtained.
