“Just let it go and move on”, this is what almost every soul tells you after a sad, sudden, dramatic breakup. We always find it difficult to move on from a relationship but eventually we move on in a lapse of time. Moving on doesn’t necessarily mean catching up a new person sharing same intimacy as your ex but rediscovering yourself, building the new you.
There are ways that we can try to move on from a toxic relationship
• One needs to clear his/hers/theirs baggage. They can acknowledge what they had and accept that the relationship was meant to end.
• One can cut off any contact with their ex and stop stalking them on social media.
• Seek for closure, try to understand their actions and forgive them (in order to maintain your calm and mental peace).
• Try new things, meet new people, keep yourself busy.
There are tons of other stuff which you can do to get over your relationship (these were the top google results) , it’ll take time but you will move on eventually and will someone new one day and live in peace .
But letting go is what I believe an uphill task or maybe something impossible. No matter how hard you try you can’t let go the memories, the comfort, the intimacy you had with that person. You can’t actually undo the way someone made you feel.
At times when you are over someone, loving your new life and out of no where hear a line of their favourite song or accidentally pass through the spot where you first kissed or watch any movie where actors are playing the same game you used to play, at all these moments you feel like you are stuck in that particular time phase and that gives you those pink blushing cheeks and a broad smile, which is kind of involuntary, try hard it won’t go away.
There is nothing as forgetting things which were once important to us. Those moments just stay and sometimes leach out when they find suitable occasion. We can’t undo them, even when we think we are ready.
We move on, we accept and start over, but we can’t delete the mark someone has left on us after all we are humans not computers with delete key. One may move on from death of a near one but can’t let go of it(like we can’t let go Sushant Rajput’s demise).
In this post I have no solutions to give and none to ask. It was just a numb feeling of mind.
